You are absolutely correct. I have told numerous folks at campgrounds who have asked me about my Landmark by Heartland 2004 fifthwheel trailer....it has had too many to count leaks, ruining considerable amount of interior walls, carpeting and flooring in the overhang storage area....cheap pressboard has deteriorated due to water leakage from who knows where.
Multiple trips to dealer 85 miles away with very little satisfaction on stopping the multiple leaks.
I would not recommend a Heartland product to anyone. They should be closed with a huge class action case, and go bankrupt for lack of sales of theis POS products.

bought a new heartland country ridge travel trailer from camper city of ohio six years ago. have had ten unassociated water leaks (floor, roof, slide, etc.) since then.
1st one was discovered two months into the purchase. Neither heartland nor camper city stood by the product.
too expensive to sue. please beware of these two cheats.

Same problem here in central Oklahoma. Bought a Landmark by Heartland fifth wheel in late Oct.
2004. Took it out first weekend in November, and a good rain about second night. Guess what--we had entire living room carpet soaked in water next morning. Every rain, a new leak was found, but the leaks never stopped showing up.
Our investment essentially ruined by shoddy workmanship at Heartland. Saw a man just West of town had bought one just like mine. Stopped and talked with him. He had experienced leaks also.
He thought it was coming from the drainage channel around the outside of the trailer. I told him my story, and he got rid of his trailer very quickly after telling him of my experiences with the dealer "trying" but unable to stop the leaks! No help from Heartland.
They need to be closed down for putting out such shoddy products. A big class action lawsuit would be wonderful!
Yeah, Heartland has very poor quality control.
