I have a 2009 Heartland Northtrail. I recently went to check on it only to find the floor had split and curled.

Heartland will not fix it because it isn't under warranty, but I feel that since it has only been four years and it was not cause by water or such, they should. It is going to cost me over $2000 to get it fixed. If they had put good quality flooring in there to begin with, this wouldn't have happened.

I will NEVER buy a Heartland again. I had another camper and its flooring lasted well beyond four years.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Location: Denver, Colorado

The main problem you have is that you were sold a Heartland unit with advertised "marine grade" OSB. There is no such thing as "marine grade" OSB.

I have emails from Heartland's distributors Ainsworth and Weyerhauser stating they do not manufacturer or produce anything called "marine grade" OSB. I also contacted the American Plywood Association and they said there is no such thing as "marine grade" OSB. I have a unit with 40 - 50 items wrong with it including a damaged floor from a water explosion! My unit was never inspected and had leaking pipes, LP propane prematurely emptied, smoking lights, damage to roof and slide outs, undisclosed body and paint work, etc.

Heartland and dealership Explore USA can't be trusted.

Where was it stored? If it was someplace humid or damp, there's your answer.

This is the trouble with buying stuff we don't use daily - generators, RV's - they all need to be brought out periodically and used. RV's need aired out - being closed up for a long time, especially in harsh conditions, will cause mold, dampness, and wood and electrical damage.
