New ReviewerI finally discovered a leak in the rear of my water heater on my 35TRSL Elkridge. The fittings were never fully tightened at the factory, so every time we would go camping, and connect to a water source, Had a slow leak and never discovered it.
The way I finally found the leak was, I didn't fully level the RV the way I should, and the front sat lower than the rear. I had carboard boxes against the partition for the front subfloor storage area, and discovered they were wet.
Further inspection revealed, (after removing the partition) that the fittings were obviously leaking the entire time since I bought the camper. Heartland, (of course) claimed I should have discovered it in the 1st year of ownership.
The RV is only used 8-10 times a year, You decide for yourself judging from the attached photo. The wood is rotted and black from age. I will NOT buy Heartland again.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
Monetary Loss: $1500.

I bought a Heartland Mallard IDM 325 from Camping world. 1st a leak under the Kitchen sink, solution hand tighten the fittings.
2nd issue leak under the bathroom sink, solution again tighten the fittings by hand. 3rd issue leak under bathroom cabinet where the 12v water pump is located, again hand tighten the fittings. latest issue leak in the area of the water heater when connected to city water. This was significant and it was under warranty but I expect the solution was hand tighten the fittings.
and replace the wet insulation. I have not been contacted by camping world on the repairs yet, but it has only been 6 days.
