Wish I Could Get My Trade-in Back

I looked forever trying to find somewhere to put a review on my Cyclone 4200. I'm not really glad that everyone is having issues, but I got suckered in just like you with the immediate "ahhhh" when you walked in. Nothing is practical on this thing. Heartland pinched the refrigerator water line inside the trailer when they were making it, so ours leaked water all inside the first trip out. They refused to do anything other than put the line in the right place. No mind that I had standing water in an RV for days before they were able to have someone look at it. Carpet discolored now. Power switch from battery to electric hookup fried the second trip, so my electrician hubby has to rig the wires to switch to battery power so fridge doesn't melt on the way home. Water heater plastic bolt sprang pin hole and sprayed inside a (non-access) panel with wiring. Again, thank God I married a mechanic/electrician or this RV would kill me. Door swing shock ripped out on the second trip, the TV operations suck all around. You can't use any of the electronics without reading manuals, nothing syncs. Problems with power to auto levelers, both drop down patios have rust everywhere (at less than a few months old). The patio railings don't close together, we have to rig the hardware to make them stay together. The steps are loose and wobbly. Wallpaper in main bathroom already separating, prefab caulk strips where tub meets floor isn't even touching. The sinks spray everywhere, you can hardly use the main bathroom sink it is so close to the back you can't fit your hands in it. Nothing drains well, slow drain in main shower even when we put spacer in to pry up higher, slow drain in rear garage sink. Middle recliner never works and gets stuck in the up position and takes forever to try to get down. LED lights inside outer TV frame were unglued and fell down. Garage toilet always has problems and smells even when not being used, had to shove sticks and hose down to clear it on third trip out and only was used like once or twice before that. None of the tank level indicators ever seem to read correctly. Garage faucet in sink only drips water so useless. Third trip using it and a Black PVC elbow came out of the line when draining the Black water. They told us it probably just fell in there when assembling since it didn't seem important. What??? I leaked pipe pieces when I drained my toilet and it was acceptable! Cabinets are too deep to use. You have to put everything into boxes or plastic bins to use the cabinets. Molded strips on both sides of fifth-wheel hitch that hide screws pulled out and flap around every trip, so we ripped them out. I can go on and on about how much this is not worth nearly 6 figures. Only camped a few times and had about 6 months, and it has made me not like camping. PS don't purchase tire warranty. Got nail in sidewall when taking to fix the first water leak at the dealer and tried to use tire warranty, and the FREE replacement cost more than a brand new tire and the shipping to buy your own. DO NOT PURCHASE TIRE WARRANTY!!! Rip off!

Stay with what you have. I have the 2015 heartland cyclone, 4000.

It is a piece of junk. I am not new to the RV world either but I got taken on this one.

Cheap workmanship, lots of problems, please just look at the comments here about heartland RV's. I have not looked at the new Forest River products but my best trailer and I've had 5 over my lifetime was a Cardinal by Forest River.

Just bought 2016 Heartland travel trailer. It's still 2015!! The bathroom sink cracked first week we had it.. It's leaked since! Our refrigerator has never worked right so we keep ice / cooler for back up! Now.. Camping in 40 degree temps with rain, furnace goes out?? Really! We work so hard for our money! Just like so many out there like us do. Wth!! We are beyond freezing.. A neighbor kindly let us borrow a space heater for tonight impossible to pack up in a storm! Tried to call heartlands customer service. Joke! Closed on Saturday 11 am. Would never own Heartland again! Our furnace kicks on cold air for 30 seconds.. Shuts off and stays off! #freezing in O H I O

my wife believed we were purchasing a high quality product. unfortunately we have been very much disappointed.

Between water leaks, broken furniture, poor assembly, deamination, and customer service department who just does not care. the message from dave McWilliams and mike Rogers of their customer service area, you brought it you own it .

we have had issues from day one where laminate was cut short and cause delamination, three tv's having to be installed because of water leakage and improper cabinet installation, furniture not properly installed and now even more water leakage problems. like the coach , like the design, very very very disappointed with the company and their customer service department , ready to go to corp office and trailer life

We are having major issues with our heartland camper as well. Fresh water tank leaks, shower leaks, jack messed up, to list a few things.

We are getting the run around on repairs. I am utterly disappointed in heartland

Seems like a Camping World standard practice. Same run around at Camping world of hanover, PA for over a month and half, when I took it back because of slide out problems....I filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office against camping world, and presto, all parts arrived a x slide was fixed.

They even had the foreman and another guy come out and spend time showing exactly the issue and fixes made. I just made sure that I video taped them the whole time for a record of conversation s.... I figured that I won't go there anymore, so I decided to use Camping world of harrisburg, PA, from that point on. In July 2015, I complained about the electric awning motor unit wiggles roughly, before the warranty expired.

So far they have not asked to have it brought in. Instead, they claim that the "warranty company" is giving them a hard time and keeps asking for pictures of the awning arm one time, then a few weeks later, pictures of the Piece I'm referring too, and recently asking for pictures of the awning roller. The roller is not the problem. I sent an email to the lady that handles warranty issues at that store, asking who this warranty company was, so that I can call them and get the real scoup, but I have already called the Heartland RV warranty rep, and no claim authorization has been submitted.

I also called the manufacturer of the problem motor unit, and they acknowledge the same. Well back to the attorney generals off to file another complaint. Enough is enough.

Time to end the Camping World trend. Maybe everyone should make use of their State Attorney Generals Office to complain.

Also brought it home to take it to different place to get fix

They should call them "LEMONS BY HEARDLAND" My warranty work after one month was 3 pages long. It's been in the shop over 30 days. From cheap tires that separate to screen doors that didn't have any screws in it. No galvanized screws on the outside storage doors so they rusted. The fresh a water tank looses 1/3 it's water after a 60 mile trip. My Awning has come loose twice from a mild wind the only way to use it is if there is NO wind. The joints on the sinks were not tight so the tub and kitchen dranes leaked all over........that was page one of 3. Heartland should slow down the production line and let their employees finnish their jobs. There was a manufacturer in eastern Canada called Glendale unfortunately they closed during the recession. The stuff they built is still on the road. I don't expect the 70k trailer to last 5 years based on the quality of my unit I've had been an RV man for 30 years. Today the look pretty but its all just makeup no substance.

2015 Cyclone 5th Wheel Toy Hauler 3110

We purchased unit new, in Boise, ID. Issues: why is the thermostat in the bedroom?

Ridiculous location. When we use the furnace the a/c also comes on - had to pull the a/c fuse to turn it off; Broken chair; broken fireplace, no screen door or curtain on main entrance, absurd entrance to bathroom - on the stairs; NO kitchen storage space at all; dare you to wash your hands in the bathroom sink - the faucet is about 1" from the back of the sink - poor design; no light switch inside the entrance - you have to open the panel, which is not lighted, and very hard to distinguish which toggle runs what.

Panel should be lighted! We should have paid closer attention to detail - that's on us- but this is a very user unfriendly unit!!!

Heartland North Trail 32 RLTS

Purchased in this unit in 2014. Problems started with our first camping trip discovered leak in closet slideout.

That was only the beginning. So far our camper has been in the shop more than at our home. To date we have add 11 things need repair on this camper. We have had to wait and wait for Heartland to approve repairs for the dealer to fix.

We are currently waiting on our unit to have a third leak repaired. Advised by dealer manufacturer defect. Heartland has been unresponsive when contacting them.

Will never purchase any Heartland product again. Am currently pursuing "lemon law" action against this company.

LEAKING=DRYROT

We bought our first brand new trailer. We had no idea the nightmare and lack of customer service that came along once we took the lemon off their hands.

We are not full time RVers. When we took our travel trailer out for the second summer we discovered the floor from the storage compartment to the bedroom was soft. Upon further inspection we discovered the entire floor was dry rotted out. We took our RV in to the dealer and discovered the storage compartment had a leak and that the screws were never covered, thus allowing the element in.

Who would have thought a brand new RV would be made so shabby. Heartland would not stand behind their product saying that it has been longer than a year. My question is how long does dry rot take to appear?

We are still making a monthly payment on a travel trailer with extensive water damage. Will never by Heartland again.

We had the same problem with our 2010 heartland northcountry roof leaked $ 8000 worth damage still paying payments!

We bought a brand new, so says the crooked dealer, kitsmiller rv, their slogan is key to quality RV, yeah right, in 2011 that was a clearence model from 2010.

The big slide out floor is rotted out after only 4 years of owner ship. The problem that I realize is two fold.

First the dealer only wants your money, she doesn't care about you as a customer, I to

D her what happened, says it's out of the one year manufacture warranty, so there's nothing that can be done. She didn't even pick the phone and call the factory.

So, I am planning a full fledged class action law suit against this manufacture and the dealers who sold it. I have contacted my lawyer, he has given me a name of an attorney who specializes in class action law suits out of Detroit, we are from michigan.

Not sure how all of this works, looking for those that I can point to the attorney.

Anyone intrested? I think that the attorney's work for payment at the end of the trail, so there is no up front costs

Very disappointed, we bought this unit to replace our home of 20 years and after 30 days feeling it may be our worse discussion ever. Explore USA installed a washer that has never worked, the satellite has never worked the only way to get it is to run a cable through the window, after only 3 days light over the stove quit, black water tank never gets below 1/3, microwave door rubs, first 24 hrs the plug / usb burned our got really hot to the point I was afraid of fire, radio in the garage area that is suppose to play cd and dvd's has never worked, so Explore USA tells me to contact the makers of the radio system to get repair on it and replacement for the plug that quit really for the cost of these units they should be of the quality that we pay for not for us to spend hours days weeks fixing our self what should have worked in the first place and air conditioning in bedroom never turns off and black water tank will not empty, we have had the unit 30 days today. I have contacted the dealer and their answer is bring it to them and leave it for a couple of weeks and they will try and go through it, wrong answer this is my home not a vacation spot, my home with pets and everything I own. I bought new so we would not have this problem and spent everything we had to get this so I have no options, I do not have the money to replace it but for what I paid I expect it to live up to the quality Heartland puts out there We can use a repair service but it is not covered under warranty, so you pay lot's if money and pay again to get fixed what was wrong to start with. As many people as there are living in these units and they are making them as residential their service should also fit residential repair, instead of selling a product that isn't right then have the costumers pay twice. I think the lemon law is working. I have wondered about Consumer Affairs and BBB.

Heartland RV Bad Tires, Multiple Leaks

While traveling to our 2015 Labor Day destination, with less than 1500 miles on our first travel trailer, the the right rear tire blew out less than 50 miles into our trip causing $5k worth of damage. The factory installed TOWMAX tires were checked and properly inflated prior to traveling. In order for TOWMAX to assume any responsibility I would have to ship the tire to Canada to their lab for inspection (Right, good luck with that) We decided to replace the remaining factory tires. Three of four (including the blown) had patches on the inside. Then while having the damage repaired mold was found in several areas of the floor. Causing $700 out of pocket for floor repairs. I had a professional pressure test done and found over a dozen leaks. The estimated repair/resealing cost $2800.00. Now I can't even find the customer service number for Heartland so here I am. Buy another Brand.

2016 Big Horn

We bought a Big Horn in October 2015 and have had nothing but problems. The whole RV is cold and drafty, the carpet is fraying, the wood in the bedroom and bathroom is cracking and peeling, the recliner does not work, the sinks have leaked, and the washer leaked. The company has not been very helpful having an Oh Well attitude. If you bought a new car, you would be unhappy, too, with this many problems right after buying it. We will NOT recommend this company or any of their products to anyone. We will let others know how bad Heartland is.

When is a Lemon a Lemon...Heartland?

Within 2 months after we purchased our 2013 Heartland Big Country the dealership had fixed a leak in the roof and rear wall and window that we noticed during the purchase inspection. Then 6 months later we had another major leak in the same places but much bigger. There were actually mushrooms growing out of our carpet in the living room and mold growing on the walls. Since we had a bad experience with the dealership we purchased it from we contacted Heartland and explained what was going on and they said that we could take it someplace else to have the repairs done. We took it to another dealership and during their inspection they said that the job was really too big and it should be completed by Heartland and they were not sure where the leak was coming from since the window, interior wall and carpet were all damaged and the outer skin had bubbled, but they would go ahead and submit the repair order. When the Warranty Repair order was submitted to Heartland it was denied. Heartland said that it was our fault since we did not maintain the roof properly. The roof is to be maintained every three months after it leaves the manufacture. Since it was built in 2012 and we purchased it at the end of 2013, how could we maintain it? And no one even knew if it was coming from the roof or someplace else. After 5 months of calling and writing to Heartland we finally got an agreement that they would cover the repairs but they would not cover what the dealership had submitted. Heartland said it was unnecessary work. The dealership did the work that they were told to do by Heartland. Now 4 months after picking it up, we have another leak. The back window is leaking inside the camper and the entire underbelly (all 40 feet) was full of water. We contacted Heartland again and demanded that they take this camper back and either fix it right or trade for another one. The Service Manager at Heartland came back and said NO, you need to take it back to the dealership, this is not our responsibility. REALLY?? And, the dealership wants us to bring it in for inspection in Oct to see if it is their responsibility. Great – here we go AGAIN! Just an FYI to the readers, this leak is not the only issue. There have been 24 other issues, some minor and some major and dangerous. Not only is this camper a LEMON, it is a health hazard and unsafe. Trying to get my money back too or at least a replacement.

Brand new leaky Heartland Trail Runner 29 SLE

We purchased our Trail Runner in September 2014 sight unseen. It was a new 2015 unit which we bought from Camping World. Right off the bat I could tell it seemed slammed together. Cabinet doors out of alignment ect. After third trip we encountered some rain on the drive to the campground. Water was all over the floor from a bad underneath slide seal. Also had a leak on an awning seem. Took it to a local dealer and they said the design was bad, and tried to fix it. Took it out again and encountered rain, leaked again. Called Camping World 4 hours away, and they said they couldn't even look at it for over a month. Meanwhile I had a trip prepaid to the beach 9 hours away. Traded this hunk of junk on a Coachmen Catalina. Went through a huge rain storm on the way to the beach and it was dry as a bone. This was just our experience but not impressed with Heartland, their slide seal design, or their attention to detail.
